Control Room
The QuizStage Control Room is the host’s private workspace for running a live quiz. Open questions, reveal answers, lock played cards, manage players, adjust scores, trigger media, run events, and control what appears on the public display.
What The Control Room Does
The Control Room separates the host experience from the audience experience. The audience sees the polished public display. The host sees the tools needed to run the game.
From one browser view, you can open a tile on the board, reveal or hide the answer, close a card, lock it as played, show the scoreboard, manage players, adjust scores, trigger saved media clips, open events, and monitor whether public display screens are connected.
That separation is what makes the live show feel calm. The host can make decisions privately while the room only sees the clean game presentation.

Why Hosts Use It
Live quizzes need flexibility. Someone may ask for a repeated question. A team may need a manual score correction. A media clip may need to play at the right moment. A bonus event may need to interrupt the usual board flow.
Trying to manage that from slides, spreadsheets, and separate media tabs creates stress. The Control Room keeps the core hosting actions close together. It gives the host a single place to steer the room without exposing behind-the-scenes controls to players.
It is especially useful for recurring quiz nights, company games, classrooms, parties, and livestream-style formats where pacing matters.
Adjust The Workspace to Your Liking
Every quiz has its own rhythm, and every host has a different way of keeping the show moving. The Control Room lets you move and resize the panels that matter most, so your workspace can match the quiz you are running in the moment.
If the scores are close, make the scoreboard bigger and easier to follow. If the questions are long, give the question panel more room. If you are running a fast-paced round, bring team controls, timers, and answer actions closer together so everything is within reach.
This is especially useful when different formats need different priorities. A trivia night with many teams may need quick access to scoring and team status. A classroom quiz may need more focus on the current question and answers. A live event may require the host to keep an eye on timing, progress, and display controls all at once. Instead of forcing every quiz into the same fixed layout, the Control Room gives the host room to arrange the interface around what matters most.
How It Works In QuizStage
First, build your show in the Game Show Editor. When the board is ready, start a live session. QuizStage opens the Control Room for the host and lets you open the Public Display for the audience.
The board window shows categories and tiles. Click a tile to open it live. The public display changes to the active question, while the host sees action controls. Reveal the answer when ready, update scores, then close and lock the card so it cannot be played again.
The Players window lets you add players or teams and adjust scores. The Media Board lets you play saved images, audio, and clips on the display. The Event Board lets you trigger live show moments such as bonus rounds, steal points, or spin-the-wheel style actions.
For Interactive shows, the Control Room can show submitted phone answers. For Buzzer shows, it shows the fastest buzzes so the host can call on a player and score manually.
